I am currently sat at my boyfriends parents house, waiting for him to finish work for the midnight launch of Fifa

I spent most of the day pissig around, then sat on the train, read the stage, read more of the book on bedlem I am currently reading, then met up with the boys n his friends, which was really nice :)

Now I'm going to finish reading this book, start reading the boy in the striped pijamas, then I think it's on to my first John Green book.  Nerdfighters FTW!!

I Love books!  I have totaly fallen inlove with reading, now if you don't mind, I have history to geek out on!

day 15- boom, boom, pow!

Well, another day at work, PAT testing is well on it's way ow, 2 days gone, one more to do, you would be surprised how long it takes to test everything that plugs into a socket in a theatre!  a few fails but on the whole, were pretty much set up for the new season, starting with full force next week.  It has given me chance to practice my plug rewiring/ attaching skills which I am getting quicker at finally, It's oddly therapeutic.  Other then that its allot of organising, cleaning, tidying, fixing and general maintenance.  In other news, galaxy cookie crumble is amazing!

Also, having somehow lost my book on bedlam in the theatre (history geek!), I managed to find Dawn of the Dumb by Charlie Brooker in the props storage weirdly, so reading that at work and Boy in the striped pyjamas. :)
Then home, I made chicken noodle soup and currently have my hair in curlers, just for the hell of it!  I'm off to Sheffield on Saturday as It's a friends birthday and it's the industrial night at corporation, which also co-insides with the Faderhead release party, so it should all be good :D  Also I get to see the boy, which is always the best!

Here's a lil game :)
Type these words into your music library and see what comes up

Happy: Happy Holidays You Bastard by Blink 182
Sad: Sad But True by Metallica
Love: Crazy in Love by Eminem
Hate:  All These Things I Hate Revolve Around You by Bullet For My Valentine
Light: Lights out by Mindless Self Indulgence
Dark: Dance In The Dark by Lady Gaga
Good: No Good (start the dance) by The Prodidgy

Now I'm off to watch This is England 86 :D

Today was another work day, lots of fun with the pit lift, lots of lifting and carrying, lots of jokes and general hard work, after work we then hooked up an xbox to the cinema screen with full theatre surround sound and played the new halo.  It was awesome, except the fact I am god dam awful at it!

Then home, lots more laughing with jess, now IT crowed then sleep, I am shattered.

I will upload pics soon :)

Day 10- Back at work

Well, today was the first day back at work, doing the post-Edinburgh shows for the Lincoln Company, altogther it went well, and I got a pay rise which is always good

I got home at half 9 and since then I have just been laughing with Jess, I am literally crying with laughter, I would tell you what about but I honestly don't know, lots of shouting stuff and making stupid noises and pulling faces.

Day 6-I need to get better at this!

hey peeps!

today should have been a good day for blogging, however I left it too late again (sorry!) for me to write anything decent so instead you are going to get a super quick summery.

The day started off terribly, I got up late, missed my train, had to wait an hour for another, my connection trains were all cancelled, there was no bus for over an hour so I had to get a taxi, the 15 minute taxi ride turned into over an hour due to awful traffic (stupid freshers!) and other issues, I had to listen to the taxi driver tell me about his fucked up family, the taxi was expensive, I finally got to work to try and meet with my boss but everything was locked up and my staff card had stopped working, and to top it off my phone has broken so I couldn't get in contact with him.  I assume I'm not in his good books

However after this things started to improve, I went home and chilled out with my house-mate until my other house-mate had finished work, then we met with one of my old friends for lunch at dogma (half price Sundays woop!  and the new students haven't discovered it yet!)  and basically I spent the next 4 (ish) hours chatting with my house-mates and laughing like crazy!  It was the best catch up!

and to top it off I've just finished my application ready for the morning!

bed times now :)

Day 5-London Baby!

hello!

So the thing I couldn't tell you was I was coming to London as a surprise for my sister's birthday!  So yesterday I went out for her birthday.

I'm very tired, I had a lot to write earlier but now it's late, so instead you will get a very shortened version of my day...

I chilled out for most of the day with my sister and brother in law until about 4, when she left to stay at her friends.  Then I set off to Trafalgar Square, tried to get a ticket for war horse, failed, got a half price ticket for 39 steps, went to the national gallery, looked at lots of famous paintings, ate noodles, spoke to the boy, walked to Covent Garden, walked to the theatre, bumped into someone I met in Edinburgh, saw the show, came back to my sisters house, spent the evening talking to my brother-in-law and listening to Tim Minchin.

There!  sorry that wasn't as interesting it should have been, the 39 steps was good, but not amazing...

I apologise for this entry, but I am in need of sleep now, I have a train to catch in a few hours,

Day 4- an early and unusual post!

This post a bit early because I am somewhere and I can't let you know where yet and I will be busy later and my access to the net is limited

So instead I'm going yo do something I never do, talk about make up!

O.K so this year for Christmas my mum pointed about that at 22 it was about time i started wearing make up, and so for Christmas she got me some vouchers for benefit, knowing that the 50's style packaging might just convince me!  So now i have the "basics", and as i know little about make up, I seem to continue to by from there simply because it's all i know lol...and the packaging is awesome!

So today I figured it's about time i treated myself to a few more products, and I have only tryed them once and it was on a train so this is a VERY early review lol

First lemon aid!
I alreadt have Erase Paste consealer by Benefit which I use for my under eye, and I usualy use it on my eye lid too as i don't tend to wear eyeshadow ever so it was just lightened my eyes a little.  However it is deffinaltly not made for this purpost so I bought Lemon Aid to use instead for this purpose, as this is what its actualy made for!  I ahve to say so far i'm inpressed, it does the job my consealer does but a lot less harshley and noticable and stops me looking like i've just finished doing a 2am get out, which I usualy have!

Second, Bad Girl Miscara in plum
Now I have to exsplain, I'm not really a misscara girl, I bought the water proof Bad Girl miscara before and it didn't really do much, so I didn't get the point, i ewar it very occasionaly and I only got the waterproof version so it had some chance of lastinng through work.  However people raved about how good the normal version of this miscara is so i figured rather then just get it in the same colour I would got it in plum, which is ment to make the colour of your eyes stand out more aparantly.  Well i'm not so sure about that but I am really impressed with this kmiscara, no need for eyelash curlers, it worked really well, and the colour is very subtail, I think this will definatly take the place of the Waterproof version I have when i'm not at work!

and Finaly Eye Bright

So far this is the product I'm most disapointed in, I tend to like benifit because they come with good instructions on what to do with there products, and if your a make-up novice like me this can come in very handdy!  However this didnt really tell me too much, and on first try I didn't notice much difference, I don't think I'm doing it quite right, im sure after i've used my old friend, the youtube tutorial I can figure how to get good use out of this.  I had the same issues when I first tryed Beni-tint, definatly a trial and error product, and now I love it!

and as an addded exstra I also got this free

Which is a pritty good freebe!  Last time all i got was a tiny sample lipstick.  However I'm not really a lipgloss fan, so I'm not sure if I will be keeping hold of these, they mighjt end up on ebay, however i tryed one of them and there rather nice as far as lip glosses go....

And that is me done, I warn you, i'm not sure how much net acces I'm going to have so tomorow's entry may be very breif!

Industrial_Alice

p.s ignore all my spelling mistakes, i don't have time to correct them, sorry!

Lyric of the day: "let this distruction last forever, distroy this world of dreams" Combichrist, Slave to the mashine

Quote of the Day: " I didn't pick you as a sister, but i did pick you as a friend"

Day 3- Friends are awesome, men are wankers!

But not mine though!  figured I best just state that before I get shouted at ;)

I currently have both my house mates crying because men don't understand a good thing when they've got it.  I'm not going to go onto details for both there sakes but seriously, there both amazing people who don't deserve to be in tears right now.  I have spent my day making sure there OK, or trying to.  This is very new to me, I have never lived with girls before or had to deal with this stuff, I'm generally one of the lads, but I'm trying my best, these girls mean the world to me and its horrible not being able to make them feel better, I just hope I'm doing an OK job.

Other then that I am finishing off an application form, getting things sorted for something I cant tell you about just yet.....and watching Casablanca!  I've never seen it before, it is a beautiful film.  Humphrey Bogart is amazing, he really is a unique character, so cool and manly and yet romantic, I can see why all the ladies swooned, why don't people dress like that any more!

That amazing white suit!

The hats and coats are amazing, I love the scene in Paris when he's getting rained on and its pouring off his hat, it looks amazing

I also love how the women's dresses sparkle through the black and white, and how beautifully and put together Ingrid Bergman looks in every shot

Quote of the Day: " Ilsa: I wasn't sure you were the same. Let's see, the last time we met...
Rick: Was La Belle Aurore.
Ilsa: How nice, you remembered. But of course, that was the day the Germans marched into Paris.
Rick: Not an easy day to forget.
Ilsa: No.
Rick: I remember every detail. The Germans wore gray, you wore blue.

Lyric of the day: "You must remember this , A kiss is just a kiss, a sigh is just a sigh. , The fundamental things apply , As time goes by."

Thursday 16 September 2010

Day 2- Please let me have this job!

So today, I was reading The Stage before starting another day of marathon cleaning, when looking through the job section I just happened to find the perfect job!  Literally the job I am doing now, at the theatre I've always wanted to work at, for better pay, in a city that I love!  so I have literally spent all day filling in the application form, I really hope I get an interview, it will full fill a dream of mine if I get it!

Here's a picture I took of said theatre(s) in a recent trip to the city, it's fair to say I really like the place :)

However now I'm sleepy, the first draft is finished but I will have to go over it again tomorrow, so this shall be short and sweet!

In other news my house mate is going through some really hard times today, it really sucks, I hate seeing her upset, I just hope she starts to feel a bit more positive soon!

P.S: If you work here, please give me the job!  I will work hard as hell!
Industrial_Alice

Quote of the Day: "He's been trying to get me to go on a date with him for ages, I'm totally not interested, but then he called me the other day and asked me to go to Nottingham with him, and I remembered that Nottingham has a H and M, so I thought, what the hell!- Amy Walsh

Lyric of the Day: "I wish it was, how we planned, Everything will work out, You said I hated you, If only that were true, Should have said that we'd be happy now!"- Funeral For A Friend, Storytelling

Tuesday 14 September 2010

day 1- Always remember the metal!

I'd love to start this "adventure* off with something exciting, but truth be told, as I am finally back in Lincoln after about 2 months, all I've done today is tidy and add music to my iTunes.

One of which was the new(ish) Bullet For My Valentine album, a band I'd almost forgotten about before I saw them at Download this year.

Bullet were the kind of band I saw a lot, but never intentionally.  In fact according to my records (I keep a list...I am not this organised about anything else) I have seen them 7 times, however not ONE of these times have I actually purposely seen the band, they have always been either supporting a band I want to see, or they've been at a festival.  But I have always thought they were good, particularly live, and this year was no different, in fact it revived my love for them.

Today I have just bought a ticket to see them live in December, this is the first time I've bought a gig ticket that isn't for an industrial band, (other then my annual trip to Download) in a long time, I'm looking forward to it.

But I wonder how much of this is for me to reminisce of those old days, will I listen to bands like Funeral For A Friend and From First To Last when I'm old to reminisce, in the same way my Dad secretly listens to Abba, will it be the same as the way the songs now remind me of my teens, will I go into a club dedicated to the 00's when I'm 45 and find myself dancing to Panic! At the disco?  I kind of hope so

I hope this genre of music doesn't just become something I use to try and make myself feel young, I hope my music taste expands rather then just replaces

I'm off now to finish tidying and watch the second episode of This is England 86!

p.s this blog writing co-insides with me starting to diet, I'm hoping making this public will help me stay on track, wish my luck

I'm leaving, Have I've fucked things up again, I'm dreaming, Too much time without you spent"- Heart's Burst Into Fire, Bullet for my Valentine

A long train journey and a fresh start!

hello my beautiful blog readers!  If there are any of you out there I am back!

I am back from the fringe and seen as i now *fingers crossed* have the internet back in my life i am going to atempt something rather stupid..... a blog a day for a whole year to make up for my general lamness on here!

it wont be starting just yet, im re-cooperating and seeing the family and the boy atm, but soon!

sometimes it may just be a sentance, a picture, somtimes maybe an empty rant, usually depending on how tired I am from work, but the one thing i can promice is there will be something on here everyday.  My only rule is when i say everyday i mean my day, so for instance if i get back from work at 3am and post something, its still counts as that day....basicaly im working on fringe time, as long as i havnt been to sleep as far as im concerned its the same day!  hopefully this will start around the beginning of next week.

anyway right now im back from the fringe, i'm super tired, im catching up with some important people, then back to see my house mates and actually work for cash.  i went for an awesome meal with the boy the other night and tomorrow im spending the day with my mum and were gonna finally go watch toy story 3

bye bye

Saturday 24 July 2010

a minor hiatus....

This blog is not dead!  I know ive been away for a while but that is because of a few things

1. disapearing to download, london, etc and generaly being away from my laptop.

followed by

2.  babysitting at my parents with the boy so not being online much

followed by

3.  i moved house 3 weeks ago and havnt had the net installed yet, which would have been resolved by tuesday, which would mean i'd be blogging again if the next thing hadnt just happened....

4. ive been offered a job, very last minuite, to go work the fringe festivle in Edinborough as a technicion, and as its super late i have to leave first thing tomorow!  *arrrrrrrr!!!!*  so i wont have the net again till i get back about the 4th or September.....

so you see!  i havn't abandond you!  my life is just a bit nuts at the moment...... i will try and make up for it back when my life is dull again! in the mean time, all i can do is try and take plenty of photos for along the way!

see you at the fringe

Sunday 27 June 2010

well i just...

stood in an overpriced club for hours, then payed extra money to stand in a cue and hold my freinds bags while they met Keith Duffy.  I am a good friend.  :)

Anyway i don't watch tv very often, but the other night as I was home alone and scouring 4od for something to watch, usualy i go strait to the history section or comerdy, but i felt like something different, that's when the one of documentry drama "Sunday" cought my eye.

reacently the protesters who died on the so called "bloody sunday" were finaly given the "Innocent" status, I saw this on the news but I didn't really know much about it so this caught my eye.

I'm not going to go into it too much but lets just say it was an incredibly moving piece, it made me sob like a baby and i never cry at T.V or films, i know it should be taken with a pinch of salt as it's made for entertainment but its hard to get your head around this level of needless violence.  Just watch is all i can say, it takes a while to get going but its well worth it.

And then the awesomeness turned to illness

So much has happened since I last wrote anything on here I actually haven’t had time to sit and take it all in until just now

I am currently sat on a train for the 3rd time in so many weeks, on my way to my sisters ready for Paris.

My first trip to London after my last blog was of course to see the fabulous Lady Gaga,  the show was amazing, she had so many costume chages i struggled to count them and each one was as ridiculous and amazing as the last, her voice held up awsomly well live and the whole thing seemed more reminiscent of a stage show then a typical music performance.  There was a narrative, a ton of incredible scene changes and Lady gaga and her main dancers even took a bow at the end.  She came across really genuine and seemed to connect with the audience which is a difficult job to do in a sell out venue such as the O2 orena.  Semi Precious wepons walmed up  the croud for Gaga before hand and i can honestly say the lead singer was one of the campest people ive ever seen, wearing a glittery skirt, leggings, sequined high heels, lots of make up and little else he litteraly exsuded energy from the stage, the mixture of pure campness and rock music was an oddly good mix.

After a very quick trip home came my second trip back to London town, this time with the boy to attend the Bizzare ball, we decided to make a weekend of it and i have to say i had a fantastic time with the boy <3.  We went shopping, visited the comic museum and the british museum (I now have lots moer tank girl comics yey!), had lots of awesome food, did a ton of walking and spent a night in a theatre filled with people in fetish clothes mutilating themselves, getting makid, and abusing others, also known as the bizarre ball 2010!

Strait back from that and i was literly thron into Download Festivle 2010.  That whole week was pure madess once more with some of the bext friends i could as for!  Lots of mudd, and sunshine, the first few days consisted of some deadlry drinking games, overly priced food and general loudness.  Friday the Friday, Saterday and Sunday were band days and what a great show most bands put on.  Killswich Engage were a personal highlight for me, I used to be such a huge metal fan but I feel at the moment that my love of industrial has pushed me away from most of that scene, so it’s great to ahve a band like this one throw you strait back in it again as if you’ve never left.  They are one of the few bands who I have been great without fail everytime i’ve seen them play, they genuinely have fun and always maage to get the crowed going, oh and there guitarist is a madman who “wants to headbutt all your girlfriends vaginas” you have to commend his honesty!  ACDC put on a show which was literally unreal for a festivle, they had there own stage which had an entire train built into it, they used every trick in the book and it worked so well.  Im not going to claim I was ever one of ACDC’s biggest fan’s before but it has deffinalty changed my view of them towards the better, the amount of energy they gace at the age was amazing, and some of there lesser known songs I engoyed much more the expected, there a band toyou ca’t halp but have so much respect for.  Bullit for my valantine I almost feel I have grown up with, about the time I started going to gigs heavily is about the time they started touring with well known bands, for a few years it seemed that literally any band I went to see, they supported them, so it feels wierd that i now hunt them out to watch them, i guess this is a good sign of there growth.  Brought out as the british Trivium they seem to have carried on were Trevium failed (mainly in not trying to become metalica!), the newer songs seemed great and the older ones made me feel like a 16yerar old “dirty mosher/bagghead/ whatever chavs shouted at me in the street” again which can only be a good thing.  Plus it appears Matt tuck has aged far worce then I have, so i can’t complain ;)

My biggest regret of this festivle was Sunday, the reain came and after trying to avoiding it by hiding in the 3rd tent, one of the few that was covered, listening to some terrible scremo band who must have wondered how they had sudernly become so popular, idecided that my determination to see the hilarious mock metal band Steel Panther was eough to brave rain for, and so I went, managed to get a good place to see them, but ended up so soaked i literally had no way of dreying out, by which time my one pair of shows were filled with mud and my jacket was totaly sodern with water, i had to call it a day and come bak early, missing stone sour and aerosmith, something which is a huge shame.

As a result of the said rain I am now suffereing from the worst cold I have had in ages,  i forgot my passport yesterday ad had to go ck to Lincoln ad collect it, and have now realised the train i have booked back to licoln from London i need to get to make iot back to work the following day i wont be able to make because I wont get back from Paris intime to catch, and its the last trai of the day, it seems my good times are chaging, but i ca only hope ot, now for the rest of this jurney i am goig to watch sword in the stone, happy days J

That’s all folks

P.S sorry for my lack of visuals i this blog, all my pictures are eather tied up in my camera phone, which i cant find the lead for, on my shitty disposable cameras which i havn’t had developed yet, or belong to my boy, so I will ahve to see if he will let me use them first J  hopefiully I will have a photo blog soon!

My poor neglected blog... awesomeness is on it's way!

Well maybe not blog wise, but these next couple of weeks should be fun fuilled for me at least!

First things first, multimedia assesments are finished! Which means little to whoever is reading this but it basicaly means I am no longer working 14-16 hour days with very little breaks. Infact, i have booked 18 days off work starting in 2 day's, 11 of which will be payed, and I finaly got the pay rise I have been wanting for a while, although that probibily won't come into reality for a while yet...

Photo of all the technicion's that worked the multimedia assesments

Which means no more assesment work till at least October, which is a shame really, I do enjoy them, but don't tell the student's that ;)

So tomorow the fun starts! Tonight I have to finish the show (Bomber's Moon, it's really good!), do the get out, then go home and have a masive packing sesion so i have everything ready for all the upcoming events, which is going to totaly suck cause i HATE packing! Then tomorow, i get up, set some stuff up at work, leave the guy's to it and get on a train because....

I am going to see Lady gaga!

This was a bit last minuite, my sister had two tickets to see her at the O2 arena and someone dropped out so she offered the other ticket to me, i can't wait, i bet she will be amazing live, I have been to the 02 arena twice before, once to go to the fanclub member's only Metallica show with my friend Samantha, and last time was with my older sister to go to the Michael Jackson tribute, if there's one thing you will learn about me from reading this blog it's that my music taste makes no sence

The next day I am getting a stupidly early train to my home town because it's my boyfriend's birthday, and we wil just be chiling out. I don't really know if my boy would want me to put a picture of him on the net so instead....

Happy birthday baby!

Last week was my mum's birthday but as I was working and didn't get to see her so the next day will mostly consist of me hanging out with my mummy <3

Me and Mum at the P!nk gig last year

On friday I am off to London again, this time me and the boy are stopping at my sister's for the weekend for the Bizarre ball

A friend of a friend won tickets and couldn't go so now me and the boy are attending in their place, the theme is carnival, but as it was last minuite i couldn't think of anything to go as, so I figured to hell with it and instead I am going as my blog's name sake, I am going as an industrial Alice :). This is what i have bought to wear so far (i just pray to got it all comes before I set off for London next week!)

These shoes wern't the cheapest but I don't mind because I know I will wear them alot

A latex Alice mask, a bit random but i kind of love it!

My Alice style corset, think this look's Alicey enough?

This is the one thing i'm most unsure of, latex blue skirt, i purposly got it to my hip size and not my waist size as I am worryed about the fit, I don't have the smallest bottom half, so i'm just hoping this works out ok!

And these are the cyberlox I am getting, the guy who is making them is going to stick some yellow in there too to make them a little more Alice like at no extra cost along with a clip in white fringe.

That is pritty much all of it, along with some Alice socks i already have and other bit's and bobs, oh and these awsome Cheshire Cat cyber goggles I already have which i love!

I just hope it all comes together and people can actualy tell who i'm ment to be. Then when i'm back from that it's strait to Download festival! This will be my 5th year in a row of going and I love it, although these day's i think it has more to do with meeting up with old freinds then Download itself

Then the day after I am back from that I go back to London once more to stay at my sister's before going with her and her Texan friend to Paris for a day as both me and him have never been before, I am not sure what this will consist of yet, then back to Lincoln to work the Art's Festival, then back to my home town once more to look after my little sister for a week as my parents are away

and so concludes my next month!

Love ya's all!

some kind of apologie may be needed...

So I have just realised that everywhere I look there are unfinished blogs, seriously i have two on my desktop and i just found one in my emails that I sent to myself to finish and never did! probably a bit late to upload them now...

so yeah, I've been working a lot and I've just had a week off for my birthday, which was awesome, but "hopefully" i might even get something half decent posted!

"a dream is a wish your heart makes, when your fast asleep"

So i have this wierd habit, when i work alot or have alot to do. i dream about work, i go over and over things i need to do. I guess alot of people do this, but sometimes it really helps, i seem to have the ability to memorise things in my sleep.

For instance I'm one of those people who if i make a mistake at work, will own up to it and then beat myself up over for it for a while so i know i won't do it again, this has now transfered im to my sleep. In my dreams i can go over and over what i did wrong and how to do things so in the morning I know how to do it, wierd but useful

The pinicle of this recently was when i was Stage Managing for a touring company, first night we opened in Derby i hadn't had time to go over the changes in the technical script properly and as a result I gave a few incorect cues during the show. Anoyed with myself i went back to the place we were staying on tour, went to bed and in my sleep i somehow managed to memorise my technical script, in my head i went over and over, page by page, when i woke up I knew it off by heart, so strange!

I'm only talking about that now as last night i feel asleep reading "the lives of the English rakes" cause I'm a big nerd and I woke up with this poem going over and over in my head

God bless our good and gracious king,
Whose promise none relies on;
Who never said a foolish thing,
Nor ever did a wise one.

Nerd Points to whoever know's who wrote it and which King it was about!

In other news I Just bought wreck this journal, I haven't started it yet but I'm going to wait till I've stuck my other pics on here cause I want to document it on here :) it's gonna be awesome!

P.S sorry for there being no pics in this one, i tried but it just wont have it, someone show me how to work this thing!
